I am all about new business ventures. I am a woman of ideas, generating off-the-wall ventures every day. My follow-through has not always been there, but I am working on that. Aside from writing part-time, I am looking for something new. I had the idea to partner up and go in on a joint Airbnb business. While I could be basic and go for a normal residence, I decided I want to turn it up a notch and go for an off-the-wall themed unit. The question is, is it more profitable starting a themed Airbnb business, and how do you put it together?
How Much Can You Make?
How much you can make with Airbnb depends. Price per night will depend on where you live, the type of accommodation, and how many guests your space can hold. Other price factors to consider include offered amenities and special events in your area. On average, most hosts make more than $500 a month on the platform, with most averaging $924 per month. I think we can do it even better. Homes with an all-out theme can charge as little as $250 per night and I've seen some go as high as $1,000 per night. Im a reasonable person, so I'm hoping to start at the lower end of the spectrum.
How Am I Going to Put My Ideas Together
I do not have a property, but that has not stopped my creative wheels from turning. I am actively thinking about my garden with a character twist theme and how I can bring it to life. For some of the more quirky pieces in the home, like our clock wall feature, we can get from thrift stores and yard sales. There are even a few basic tables and design elements we can get from there as well. There are some custom items we need, and for that, we will likely head over to Etsy. My cart is already full, with over 30 custom pieces. For cheap but good items for my character wardrobe elements, Im heading over to Aliexpress. They have cheap costume jewelry, character pillowcases, and the perfect mushroom lights I will need. For the other ideas, we are going to have to get crafty to save on cost.
Along with design elements, I've also started looking at security features, automation, and amenities that the guest will love. How much do you think this will cost? If I follow through with this venture, I hope to share my journey with you all. I promise to be transparent in costs, budget, design ideas, and show you our progress.
