That's why we are going to answer this question today so we can clear the air and you guys can get a solid answer before you set foot into the world of blogging. Let's get started, shall we?

How Long Does It Take to Make Money Blogging?

Now let's get something out of the way first. How long it takes you to make money with your blog depends entirely on whether or not you know what you're doing as a blogger and blogging about the right topics.

It is essential to understand the fundamentals of marketing before starting a blog because, after all, a blog is a marketing tool that is used for marketing the knowledge that you have about something. So, to answer your question, it depends on who you ask!

Some bloggers say they didn't start making money until around 4 -6 months into their blog, while others say it took them an entire year.

I should also mention that while people said they began making money on their blog doesn't necessarily mean that they started making thousands of dollars right off the back, but more or less a couple hundred.

Therefore, it's essential to understand that you can aim high when it comes to making money off. Yu blog, but don't get discouraged when you are only making a couple hundred within the first little bit. If you keep working at it, I promise you blogging will be worth it

How To Setup A Blog That Makes Money

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's take a look at some tips and tricks that you can use when you first start your blog so you are able to make as much money as possible as quickly as you can!

Pick a Niche You Are in Love With

blogging niche

This is probably one of the most important decisions you will make about your blog besides the name. What are you going to be blogging about? Pick a topic that you are absolutely in love with and could talk about for hours on end without missing a beat.

Now once you've decided what you want to talk about, don't talk about anything else on your blog. Remember that you are going to be tailoring your content to a specific audience.

So, if you are blogging about makeup, and then you suddenly start talking about movies, your audience who loves makeup will be confused as to why you are blogging about movies all of a sudden. You get the point, right?

Keep your content as specific and tailored as you possibly can. That way, you can please your audience at the end of the day. Without an audience, there is no way you will be making money as a blogger.

Be 100% Committed From the Start

You have to go all-in with this. If you want to be a successful blogger, you need to put all your commitment to blogging. That means posting high-quality content consistently, marketing yourself, engaging with your audience –you get the drill.

If you are not willing to put in the work from the get-go, you will find blogging difficult, and you aren't going to make any money.

If you are genuinely passionate about blogging and about what you are blogging about, people want to see that! So, put as much effort into your blog as you can!

Tailor Your Content to Your Audience

Contrary to popular belief, your blog, unfortunately, is not all about you. No one is that interesting. Unless you're Harry Styles, then you might be able to get away with it.

But seriously, if you want to grow an audience, you need to tailor your content to what they want to read and what they want to see.

Now, I'm not saying you can post about yourself at all. All I'm saying is that you should sprinkle your unique content once in a while but don't make your whole blog about you.

Strategize Is Key

Seriously you guys, a strategy is everything if you plan on becoming a successful blogger. And when I'm talking about strategy, I mean making sure your marketing is critical, including the topics you write about.

You need to ensure that you optimize your blog posts so they rank as high as possible on google. That means taking the time to research SEO keywords and formulating quality content that people are going to want to ready.

This Is Now Your Business, So Treat It Like One

Remembering that blogging is your full-time job now from the beginning is make or break for a lot of people. That means no slacking on posting and creating content that is going to be helpful to people.

You need to remember that the more work you put into your blog, the more you will get out of it in the long run!

Start Speaking With Other Bloggers

Another great way to begin making money with your blog is to collaborate with other bloggers in the same niche. This is not only a great way to meet new people, but it is also a great way to expand your audience.

There is no harm in asking a blogger whether you can make a guest post on their blog and vice versa. Chances are a lot of more prominent bloggers would be happy to help out a smaller blogger.

This is not only going to widen your audience, but it is also great content that people are going to want to read! So, make sure to take advantage of this if you can!

Make a Schedule and Stick With It

Having a schedule is critical when you are a blogger. Especially if you are just starting out. You need to make a certain amount of content per month and consistently stick to a schedule like your religion. I am serious.

If you don't have a plan, people are less likely to stick to making it big as a blogger. This also has to do with posting.

You need to post the same time throughout your schedule and not vary from it. Your audience will expect the same plan every week so find something that works for you and for your audience.

How To Make Money Blogging: What Works?

Now that you've a solid blog and ethics in place, here are few ways to monetize your blog and make money.

Take Advantage of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is not the only viral, regardless of the niche you blog in. Still, it is also one of the top ways bloggers have been making their money for years.

For those who don't know, affiliate marketing is simply marketing a product or service of another business on your blog. And a lot of companies welcome affiliate marketing as a way to reach larger audiences as well.

How affiliate marketing works is that you will promote a product or services for a business why talking about their brand on your blog or social media. The company will track how many sales they get that are directly linked to your marketing campaign.

You will earn a specific commission from each sale that the brand makes. It's as easy as that.

The brand calculates your commission by looking at how many people followed the link from your blog or social media posts to their website and actually purchased their products. If you do an excellent job at marketing other people's brands, this should be easy.

Add Ads to Your Blog

Another way that bloggers from all over the world are making money is through ads. People will place ads on their blogs all the time to make money, and it is a super common way for people to make money.

Google Adsense is great for beginner bloggers because they will allow you to post their ads even though you are just starting your blog. So, you should take advantage of this opportunity as soon as you start your blogging page.

At first, you aren't going to make any money from ads. This makes sense because the only way for you to make money with the ads is to have people view the ads first.

However, if you continue to hold the ads in your place, you will begin to see a difference in the amount you make as your page views increase month to month. The key is to stick with it long enough to see a difference!

Create Your Own Product

This is another reason why having a blog is so fun and how many bloggers make so much money because they are making their own products. What is really popular in the blogging community are e-books and courses for your audience to buy and learn.

For example, you could set up an online course that teaches your audience how to market better or even start their own blog. You can even offer one on one coaching to your audience as well.

You would be surprised at what people will pay for! SO, take this into the mind and create something worth your audience members buying from you!

Brand Deals

I think of bloggers as the original social media influences, and you can't change my mind about this! These days, many bloggers started making money with brand deals and sponsorships way before Instagram and Twitter were a thing!

The whole point of a brand deal is that you make money by marketing a brand's products and services. While this may seem similar to affiliate marketing, it is different in the sense that you don't make a commission on the items sold.

You will most likely get paid upfront in a lump sum or for each post that you make about this specific product or service!

Remember that while brand deals are a great way to make money, it is essential to work with brands that you actually care for and would genuinely use regardless of you being paid or not.

Your audience trusts what you say or do. Remember that before making brand deals and keep your audience in mind before signing off on any paperwork.

At the end of the day, the blog is for your audience, so make sure you are marketing brands that would be fair use to them and their needs!

Final Thoughts

As you can see, there are a ton of ways to make money as a blogger. All you need to remember is that it isn't a walk in the park. You need to work hard first, and then you can relax after your blog foundation has been built and is stabilized. Blogging is more of a long term commitment.

So, make sure blogging is something you want to do as your career because it is a business and needs to be treated as such! With hard work and the right attitude, you can accomplish anything!

And there you have it, my friends, another blog down for the books! This list should keep you motivated when first starting your blog! Remember to implement a couple of tips from the list, and you will be good to go! Until next time my friends! It's been a slice!
